Introduction

You love art and you are good at it. So, now you have decided you will pursue a degree in art. What will you do with a degree in art? What careers are available to those with a Major in the field of art? To answer these questions you need to go on a quest. If you decide to accept this challenge we need to explore all paths leading to a career in art.

Task

You are to research the various careers in Art that would interest you for future employment, select an art category from the job classifications list provided on the link below to determine the career that most interests you. You will present your findings in a Power Point presentation and a careers brochure from publisher at the end of the unit. You will have two weeks to complete the assignment.

Process

Use the following procedures and web sites to find the information needed to complete the task. You will want to save some graphics to include in your presentation

1. Select a field of art.

2. Determine your career choice.

3. Gather information about your career using the following guide lines.

ü        Job title

ü        Job description / work environment.

ü        Education/Degree needed for the job.

ü        Educational facilities that offer these degrees.

ü        Projected salary range low, median and high.

ü        Find the Job outlook for the career chosen.

ü        Corporations/Industries that maintain these career fields (3 min).
